Like to get up and work hard first thing in the morning?
Don't wait for the fun to begin, make the fun happen.
Help 200 vendors load-in on the Saturday morning of
the event.
Requirements: Vendor Captain Training Session, ability
to take charge of situations that may occur, and patience,
patience, patience.
Numbers needed: 2 people needed for each shift on
Saturday in different designated areas. 3 people needed
for each shift on Sunday.

CENTERFEST
BLOCK
CAPTAINS
Experienced CenterFest volunteers who would like to
oversee the smooth running of a region of the festival
grounds are encouraged to consider this role, which
is sure to test your trouble-shooting and coordination
skills! Block Captains act as communication links to
DAC staff, police, medical care, etc. They have direct
communication by way of walkie-talkies, and help alert
staff of any concerns. They are each given a designated
area in which they are the main point person for artists,
vendors, non-profits and public if there are any problems.
Requirements:
Block Captain Training Session knowledge of site logistics,
ability to take charge of situations that may occur,
and patience, patience, patience.
Numbers
needed: 5 people needed for each shift on Saturday
in different designated areas. 3 people needed for each
shift on Sunday.

CHILDREN'S
AREA ASSISTANTS
Engage your hands and your heart with the free-spirited
creativity of youngsters as they get busy with a variety
of arts activities.
Requirements:
love of children, ability to have fun, and patience.
Numbers
needed: 8 people per shift. All concentrated in
the Children's Area. Good festival presence opportunity
for groups or businesses. Can wear company logo, but
can not give out literature.

GREETERS
While CenterFest charges no admission fee, we staff
the four festival entry points with volunteer greeters.
Greeters welcome the public to the festival and encourage
donations to support CenterFest and the arts.
Requirements:
million dollar smile, out-going, friendly spirit, honesty
and ability to ask for money.
Numbers
needed: 3 people at each gate per shift. There are
four different entry points to the festival. Good festival
presence opportunity for groups or businesses. Can wear
company logo, but can not give out literature.

GREETERS
Looking for a low-key, cool place to help out? This
area is reserved for sponsors, key volunteers and artists
to take a break and enjoy a cool drink.
Requirements:
ability to keep things orderly and desire to socialize
with key sponsors and ardent volunteers that have dedicated
hours of time to making CenterFest happen.
Numbers
needed: 2 people are needed in the Hospitality Area
per shift. They will work in the same area. Good for
couples or friends who want to work together.

BOOTH HELPERS
If you like to have all the answers, this is the spot
for you. Provide friendly assistance to people who need
it and to give out literature on Durham Arts Council
events, classes, etc. and sell CenterFest T-shirts.
Requirements:
patience, honesty, ability to handle money, knowledge
of festival site, good communication skills and a smile.
Previous experience with CenterFest helpful.
Numbers
needed: 2-3 people are needed in the Information
Booth per shift. They will work in the same area. Good
for friends or small groups who want to work together.

STATION HELPERS
Engage with adults and children of all ages as they
try their hands at different art making projects.
Requirements:
honesty, ability to handle money, good communication
skills, out-going, friendly spirit, and an interest
in helping others with art projects.

needed: 2 people at each of the four Creation Stations
per shift. Good festival presence opportunity for groups
or businesses. Can wear company logo, but can not give
out literature. Also good for small groups who want
to work together in the same tent.

ARTISTS' AIDES
Help the 130 visual artists find their spots, set-up
booths, trouble shoot, booth sit during much needed
breaks, and help deliver meals.
Requirements:
outgoing personality, desire to aid artists, honesty,
maturity (17 or older), ability to handle money, and
knowledge of art very helpful.
Numbers
needed: 15 people needed per shift in five different
areas within festival site. 3 people per designated
area. Good festival presence opportunity for groups
or businesses. Can wear company logo, but can not give
out literature. Also good for small groups of who want
to work together.

Help orchestrate the check-in, sign-out, and assignment
for volunteers, last minute trouble-shooting of the
300 diverse volunteers that make CenterFest happen.

concentration under stress and team work.

needed: 3 people needed per shift at same location.
